Magical Acts of Warmth

A new project the HPA is starting is called Magical Acts of Warmth. The idea is to make warm items (scarves, mittens, hats, blankets, etc.) and then donate them to local shelters.

If you are not a crafty person (or don’t have time to knit, crochet, sew, assemble, etc.) you can raid your closets for warm items you no longer need or you can buy brand new items.

I have created some tags you might want to attach to your donations with ribbon/string:
For bought/used items:
For handmade items:

We’ll talk about this project at the meeting on Sunday. If you want to create & donate on your own, that’s fine. Or you can bring your donations to one of the meetings in February or March and we’ll get it to a local shelter, donation center, or group who can use it.

You can find out more about the project here:

  1. I started a scarf last night! I had to re-teach myself how to knit and the beginning is a little rocky, but it’s a little over 7 inches now and looking good for my first serious attempt at a scarf. I’m a little worried about the fringe parts at the end because I’ve never done those before. But I have a long way to go before that step 🙂

I also bought two pairs of gloves that were on sale at Wal-mart.
