Accio Books

Any Harry Potter fan understands the power that books have. They educate, they illuminate, they transport, and they make you smile. But some people don’t have access to good books, which is why the HPA began the Accio Books campaign.

Throughout March, our chapter’s mission is to collect as many good books as possible and to distribute them to people who need them. Everyone in our chapter who participates will get an awesome button as a reward (in addition to the reward of supporting literacy, of course).

Our 2010 Goal: 2,000 books
Total Collected: 2,542 books

Places We Donated To:

  1. Mississippi Delta (4 boxes)
  2. Soldiers via AnySoldier.com (1 box to Iraq, 1 box to Afghanistan)
  3. Pohick Regional Library
  4. Kings Park Library
  5. Ecumenical Community Helping Others (ECHO)
  6. Nativity Catholic School
  7. Sunrise at George Mason Senior Living Community
  8. The Virginian Continuing Care Retirement Community
  9. Reading Tree
  10. The Book Thing of Baltimore
